NATURAL POWER OF BARLEY Green Vista Barley Straw 24 to 30 pound case provides all of the natural qualities of barley straw to deter green water. It works in a variety of waterscapes, including small ponds on farms and golf courses, and retention ponds. SAFE FOR KOI, OTHER FISH, AND PLANTS Barley straw is safe for the plants and fish that live in the water in which it is used. It keeps their environments free of excess organic material. APPLICATION RATE Place the barley straw in shallow water in a sunny location; putting it in a stream, waterfall or near constant water movement is ideal. For the best results, split the barley straw bale into smaller 4 to 8 ounce clumps and space them along the water's perimeter. Apply about 4 ounces of barley straw per 1,000 gallons of water. Reapply the barley straw every 4 to 6 months. Putting the barley straw in a mesh bag is helpful before placing it in the water. Twenty four bales can treat up to 1 acre for 6 months.
