It’s hard to review this product. I bought the 4 bowls, which are in different colors, & 4 lunch plates, which match the green bowl. I did not read the site carefully enough to realize these are ceramic & not porcelain, which is lighter weight. I wanted a certain size bowl, but plastic or lighter weight so it’s easier to lift for me. The bowls are the right size. But the ceramic is so heavy! It was packed wonderfully. I did not return the set as they were just so cute—I love the bird & leaf design. I’ll rearrange the cupboard so they’ll be lower & easier to manage. But I so wish they were light-weight.I love the pattern and have been very happy so far with them.This particular size plate is perfect for me as I don't eat large meals.They've been fine in the dishwasher but I try and handwash mostly.Overall, these are great, beautiful--I just haven't owned them long enough to say exactly how sturdy and durable they are (so far, none have broken in dishwasher or microwave).LoveThese are NOT microwave safe. They will become excessively hot when microwaved for very long at all. Too hot to touch with bare fingers. And they keep leaving white marks all over EVERYTHING. Coffee table. Dish hutch. Might re-purchase them when needed since we already have a matching set of dishes we're too lazy to return, but would probably re-think it if buying the first time.We love these plates.... whimsical fun pattern perfect for spring ?❣️ This is my second set of dishes from Bico, they are nice quality at a fair price, I will continue to shop their dishes. In recent times as we're all home cooking more I enjoy having a selection of dishes to suit the meal I have prepared each day... they make this a joy to be able to do! Thank you ?I had never heard of this brand so I was a little skeptical. However, these are actually very sturdy plates. Not heavy but also not super thin. They are also much prettier in person.I love the plates. They are very pretty and easy to clean. I can still grab them after place them in the microwave. All the heat goes to the center so I can still grab the outer side of the plates. The design doesn't spill or get damaged after being in the microwave a couple times. So that's another positive thing about them.I’d have given it a 5 stars but one of the plates had a tiny chip when it arrived. I couldn’t be bothered to return it as it’s only a tiny chip.Beautiful dishes only one has a slight mark on it in my opinion would make it a second , but I can live with itThe bad: I think I received a returned product as the styrofoam packaging surrounding the plates was broken and taped up inside the box and the plates themselves have enough imperfections that I debated whether to return. They do have a bit more little flat black specks than would be considered acceptable, and some inconsistencies in quality of pattern color application such as a wiggle on the edge line, some areas have a bit of missing color. I did order several other patterns from this brand and most came in very good to excellent condition but one other set has to be returned due to severe raised black speckling defect in the finish. I'm very happy with the other good sets and have decided to keep this one despite the imperfections since this is not a gift and I can live with them as they are very nice otherwise. I would return and try order a new set if this were to be a gift. In my experience, with 2 out of 5 different patterns ordered having quality issues with one of them having major defects, the quality control needs improvement.The good: If you get a good set, they are really pretty plates. The feel, shape, size and thickness is just right and they are a pleasure to use. I've microwaved many foods on them with no issues and ran through the dishwasher a few times already, so far all good. I have not experienced any chipping or breakage with normal everyday use so far. The plates all arrived intact, zero broken items out of 5 different sets so the packaging is excellent. The patterns are beautiful and unique, they bring me joy every time I use the plates so to me they're worth it.very thick plates very niceI got these as a gift for my mom and she loved them!
