I had a plastic bottle however somehow lost it. I was reading an article that not all plastic bottles are safe and even though they may be BPA free there still could be harmful chemicals in them. I decided to purchase these and they are great.On the plus side it holds a comfortable amount of water and the top opens and closes easily. It hold the water with no spilling. I have become comfortable enough to just throw it in my backpack with no worries about it leaking on my items inside the pack. The silicon cover is great as well and the strap its a plus as it makes it easy to hold when you have other items in your hand. The taste of the water is totally unaffected by the glass and its very easy to clean.On the negative side its heavy but this is something you should think about when you are purchasing a glass water bottle.Overall if you know what your getting into this is a great water bottle. I really have no complaints and I don't think my negative is really something to be concerned about as its normal for glass to be heavy. I highly recommend this bottle.
